Unleashing Potential, One Paw at a Time
KIDD's Canine Academy was founded in early 2025, with the aim of creating harmony between Dog and Owner. Too often we blame the dog when things aren't going to plan, rather than look at where they have learned that behaviour. Dogs are truly man's best friend and it is up to us to help guide them and allow them to thrive in our world, through us. We follow Will Atherton and many other modern dog trainers view of how to train our dogs, in a loving, nurturing way but maintaining the need to lead. There is often a joke inside the dog trainer world and that is; "Three dog trainers are put into a room, one thing that two will have in common, is that the other one is wrong".
We predominantly use positive reinforcement, however, we are not closed off to the other three quadrants of operant conditioning.
Luke
Founder
Luke came into the dog training world at a very young age, possessing a natural ability to connect with family dogs, teaching them various commands and building trust. In late 2022, Luke had aquired his first dog, Aurora, the Akita. Akita's are known to be powerful and fiercely independent breeds, who are difficult to train and not advised for first time owners. Despite his early struggles with training, him and Aurora managed to forge a formidable partnership. Luke put in the desired hours of practical and learned knowledge through the world famous Will Atherton Academy and has since participated on an advanced course at Offleash K9 in order to build his bond with his own dog and learn various other methods of training.
He continues to learn and grow within the industry, often searching for new training methods, whilst also creating his own techniques.
